A memorial service
Yes. I had to attend the memorial service of Mr Devan Nair. And for such a solemn affair, only yours truly could tell you that i ended up in embarrassment.
Yours truly.
Last night i realise that i didnt bring the very important invitation card. And without the invitation card, i wouldnt be able to get into the memorial service. And, early this morning, i rushed to office in the heavy rain to get my invitation card, and meet andrew for lunch.
Was one of the first to reach the place together with Andrew. So we were trying to get into the place. And because we were the first, the policemen were not too ready yet. So we had to go through the normal checks.. sign in, bag checks.. go though the machine etc..
So then they will issue you with a sticker. To show that you've gone though 'clearance'.
Well, i went to the toilet, and because no one was there yet, we went for some coffee. And guess wad. I dropped my sticker somewhere in the toilet. So, (full of embarrassment) i went to the policemen and told them the truth, i dropped my sticker in the toilet. And they laughed and gave me another one.
To coffee we go. (with a new sticker) And i stuck it real hard on my cardigan. (There wasnt any problem with Andrews sticker. It stuck firmly on his shirt)
On our way back.. it started to rain, and there was this gust of wind. AND. my sticker flew away! So i was trying to step on it WHEN. It flew right into the drain. Wonderful really. I had to go back to the policemen and ask for another sticker.
I guess, if you were the policemen, you would also think i was giving lame excuses. I went back to tell the same policemen i needed another sticker. And the best thing was, they all knew me by face already.. One of them was like, wheres your sticker? And i replied, urm.. urm.. it flew away. There is no need to tell you about the look on the guy's face.
In remembrance of this, i still have the sticker stuck on my phone.
Yours truly.
